I decided that a cable scarf would make a great birthday present. I made up the pattern, and I think it turned out well. It's made out of wool, which makes it nice and fluffy. It was nice to make something out of a natural material. I usually make long scarves, but after 4 feet I decided this one was long enough. I have taken to using smaller dpns instead of cable needles. I think it's easier that way.

This is beautiful. Great color. You are a knitting machine. (And not the kind that just makes a tube that you want to get when you're eight but your mom won't let you).

I like the pattern. And I concur about cable needles: expensive and not that helpful.
